MOON RISING OVER ICEBERGS IN GREENLAND

I think everyone knows this feeling: sometimes, when you are experiencing something extraordinary, in that very moment you think to yourself, "I hope I'll remember this; it is really special."

The image shows a large pink moon rising over jagged, icy mountains. The sky is a deep blue, creating a serene and mystical atmosphere.

This image you see represents such a moment for me. Years ago, Karim and I went on a hike to Sermermiut valley, where we had an unobstructed view of the icefjord. We put down our backpacks, opened our coffee thermoses, and sat down for hours as we watched the icebergs move through the fjord. Occasionally, as they moved, large pieces of ice would crack and fall, filling the air with a loud, echoing sound.

Suddenly, a pink moon emerged from behind the taller icebergs and began to move parallel to the horizon, hovering just above the icy peaks. I couldn't help but think to myself "Is this even real? Try to remember this moment - it is something truly special."

In fact, I was able to capture a short video (sped up) so that you can see how the moon moved.

This is one of the reasons why I love capturing photos and videos - because years later, as I reflect on them, I am filled with goosebumps and a warm feeling of gratitude. Every time I look at these images, I can still hear the sound of the cracking ice and feel the magic of that moment.

For those interested in technical details, the image and the video were shot on Fujifilm XT-2 and Fuji 100-400mm.
