For people who know me well, it might seem unusual that I tell a story about a walk on the beach. But just take a look at the photos below, and you'll see why I want to keep this place and that specific evening in my memory forever.
Walk with me. Imagine this: mid-Autumn, at 5 o'clock in the evening, with temperatures of 24°C (75°F) outside, a gentle breeze blowing from the ocean. The only sounds you hear are the crashing waves and an occasional seagull.
To your left, there is an infinite ocean, glistening under the sunset light. On your right stand impressive tall cliffs, reminiscent of an ancient canyon. This breathtaking view extends as far as the eye can see.

In October, the tourist season is almost over. For most of the 6 km of the coastline, you barely see anyone else.

The magical sunset light gives everything an ethereal, fairytale-like appearance.

Praia de Falesia - best beach in world?
In 2018, Tripadvisor named Praia da Falésia the number one beach in Portugal, the third best beach in Europe and the number 12 best beach in the World. You look around and nod in agreement. Soaked in the last rays of the Sun, the trees look like they belong to an enchanted forest.

Just a few minutes later the Sun is below the horizon. You look one more time into the ocean and hope that you will remember this evening forever.
